In spite of its name, my third full album, Born to Be Alone, was actually the result of a collaboration. From 2014 to 2018 I studied piano under the tutelage of Barcelona-based composer José Carrasco. Our piano lessons gradually turned into a collaboration, with me on guitar and José adding his sensitive lush arrangements. After playing a series of concerts together, some in duo format and some with a backing band, we decided to go into the studio to record the repertoire we had developed. It was through José that I met drummer and producer Miki Grau, who took over production of the album in its final stages and ended up having a tremendous impact on the project.
The artwork and packaging for Born to Be Alone consists of three original collages by Catalán artist and designer Carles Piera, who, among many accomplishments, has designed and constructed the main stage of the Cruilla Music Festival for the past four years.
